(English) Update: Marathon | 7 August

Dear Marathon Race Competitors

It is just 3 days until race day. I hope you have had a chance to check out the course. There are no changes from the published route in the Unicon 19 programme book.

The race is out and back, twice (2 x 21.1km). It is very narrow for the first 2/3, before widening in the final 1/3. In the narrow part of the course, there is room to ride single file only, as you will have oncoming unicyclists.

We have rescheduled the race to start at 7am, to avoid the worst of the heat. You must have adequate water for the race- minimum 2L hydration pack. Whilst we will provide water, you must not rely on this only.

You will be placed into heats based on your best times. If you did not race the 10km, and/or you have not provided me with a personal best marathon time in your Unicon registration- please reply with this information now. If you already have a personal best time recorded in your registration form, or if you raced the 10km, please DO NOT send me this information again.

0630 Heat 1, 2, 3, 4
0645 Heat 5, 6, 7

Race Heats:

0700 Heat 1 Fastest men’s unlimited.
0705 Heat 2 Fastest women’s unlimited
0710 Heat 3 Fastest mens standard.
0715 Heat 4 Fastest Womens standard
0720 Heat 5 Mixed standard/unlimited by time
0722 Heat 6 Mixed standard/unlimited by time
0724 Heat 7 Mixed standard/unlimited

Race finish 11am

*If you do not complete your first lap (21.1km) by 0900, then you will not be allowed to go out for a second lap. Your placing will be recorded and your result will still count.*
